Garment care

Caring for your clothes is essential to maintain their appearance, quality and durability over time. In particular, garments made from natural fibres such as cotton and linen require specific attention to preserve their original properties and avoid damage. Below are some recommendations for the care of our clothes and how to treat them based on their particular characteristics.

Garments made of cotton and linen are known for their comfort, softness and breathability. However, to preserve these qualities, it is crucial to follow certain steps during washing and ironing. These garments can be washed at a temperature of 30°C, which is sufficient to remove dirt and bacteria without compromising the integrity of the fibres.

Once washed, they can be ironed to remove wrinkles and keep them looking fresh and tidy. However, care should be taken not to use ironing temperatures that are too high, as this could damage the fibres.

The use of tumble dryers is not recommended as it can cause unnecessary wear and tear on natural fabrics, affecting their shape and softness. Instead, it is recommended to air dry these garments, preferably in a well-ventilated area and away from direct sunlight.

Hand painted garments

The special fabric paint used on these garments is designed to adhere well to the fibers, yet these garments require delicate care to preserve the art and work invested in each piece.

It is recommended to wash these garments inside out. This protects the paint from direct contact with other fabrics and reduces the risk of it wearing off during washing.

When ironing, it is important to place a thin cloth between the iron and the design. This extra step prevents direct contact of the hot iron with the paint, which could damage it or cause it to transfer to other areas of the fabric.

Hand dyed garments

Hand-dyed garments are unique and often feature vibrant colors and irregular finishes that reflect the craftsmanship behind their creation. However, these types of garments can present an additional challenge in care, especially during the first few washes.

It is advisable to wash hand-dyed garments separately for the first few times.

Drying also plays a crucial role in the care of hand-dyed garments. To keep the colors vivid and prevent fading, they should be dried in the shade in a well-ventilated area. Direct exposure to the sun can quickly fade the colors and compromise the aesthetics of the garment.

In short, proper care of garments, especially when they are hand-painted or dyed, requires a careful and detail-oriented approach. Washing at 30°C, avoiding tumble drying, and ironing with the proper precautions are essential steps to maintaining the quality of these garments. In addition, paying special attention to washing and ironing techniques specific to painted or dyed garments ensures that the craftsmanship is preserved and that the garments maintain their beauty and functionality over time. With this care, the garments will not only last longer, but will also continue to look like new for much longer.
